The IHD has four tabs: “Hours”, “Days”, “Weeks”, and “Months”. It works with the SmartView in-home display, which is compatible with all smart meters we install.

To set up an IHD, simply book a free appointment and we’ll set up your smart meter. Once powered on, the display will automatically show the Home screen. You can also press t on the display to access the settings.

  • Had mine fitted this afternoon, just for electricity. It worked OK for about half an hour, and has been saying “connecting to meter” for the past few hours. Status says 22-2. The guy on EDF live chat said it needs to update and will be working within 30 days, even though it can’t connect to the network!!

  • I had mine installed in December, kept dropping out. Read instructions to reset so stand by outdoor meter works great but as soon as I go into my property signal drops out, told there was a firmware update and to wait until February before I could report faulty, raised a complaint and was told ( I must admit a very helpful person) in responding that the range for it to work is 15 feet. I have no access points in the property where I can put the IHD, so now box up and put in a cupboard. Wish I never had the meters changed.

  • Had mine installed a couple of weeks ago and since both my meters are on the outside wall with a garage in between there doesn’t appear to be hardly any signal (1 bar typically) which means my smart meter display unit just seems to be constantly ‘waiting for data’ which isn’t great and on contacting EDF have been told to wait another 2 weeks for this to be resolved but not holding my breath, anyone got any tips how best to resolve this or not as the case maybe as now feel out of control with respect to energy bills?

  • I am with Utilita and for the past few months had constant signal problems, the engineer came out and said that gas meter not communicating with electric so got no display from my gas and now waiting again to see if they can fix it their end. Got told that if you use a Wi-Fi connection you risk hackers and people switching on your power etc not sure if that’s the case but if you dont have a firewall setup that could happen in theory.

  • Smart meter was fitted yesterday, the monitor worked when the installer turned it on but this morning it’s saying “waiting for data”. The booklet says to turn it off and on again, but there isn’t an off button! I’ve taken the batteries out and unplugged it in an attempt to restart it, but now says “connecting to meter” – been saying that for four hours!

  • Why does it not have rechargeable battery and whys it not connecting looks dam right fishy to me eg like I don’t see how I can use 5 times more gas that electric even tho boiler running on temperature mode where’s the WiFi module And why does it output 2.6v while plugged in with USB cable should be 0v if it doesn’t recharge the batteries looks like it wants lithium my multimeter shows 3.7v for a second so fishy

  • Just had this installed today. I have an external meters. Gas shows nothing at all. Electricity seems sporadic and I only get one bar signal in the house. I need to stand within 6’ of the meter outside to get a full signal and it’s gone by the time I’m 10’ away and around one corner of the garage. So much for saving energy by monitoring your usage. It bloody impossible to do this. Absolute crap system. And no, you don’t get told that. My advice, avoid this rubbish system. It is not an upgrade.
